Interspan would like to congratulate Mohammad Mirshekari on the award of his PhD from Kingston University.
Since starting with Interspan over 4 years ago as a design engineer, Mohammad has been balancing his project-based workload with his work on the Behaviour of Pre-stressed FRP Reinforced Concrete Beams.
The aim of the PhD project was to investigate the behaviour of BFRP-reinforced beams with different levels of prestressing and to compare their deformability with the deformations developed in steel-reinforced beams.
As a design manager, Mohammad has been responsible for the design and construction process of PT concrete slabs for various clients and building types including:
- Arrowhead Quay (The Wardian), London
- Marble Arch Place, London
- Van der Valk Zuidas, Amsterdam
- 1-5 Grosvenor Place, London
- Lillie Square, London
- Inverness Justice Centre, Inverness
- Capital Dock (Block C), Dublin
- Academiestraat Gent, Gent
Mohammad has also written and co-written various papers published in international conferences, including the Comparison between punching shear capacity of PT and RC slabs according to different design codes, fib Symposium 2017, 12-14 June, Maastricht, Netherlands.
Well done, Mohammad. We look forward to working with you as your career develops.
