Project Description
Balga Campus state-of-the-art training facility
In a progressive move towards enhancing educational facilities, Western Australia’s North Metropolitan TAFE’s Balga Campus is undergoing a remarkable transformation.
Designed by Perth architecture studio Hassell, the $42 million state-of-the-art training facility, set against the backdrop of Balga’s 18 Loxwood Road, will boost local training in building and construction, electrical, and a range of other courses.
Interspan were engaged by the Main Contractor, EMCO Building, to supply and install post-tension systems designed by Stantec for over 3,750 square meters of floorplate spread over two floors and in seven unique pours.
The upcoming facility will serve as a replacement for 22 outdated transportable classrooms that were initially constructed in the 1970s.
Interspan embarked on the project in April 2023, focusing on the supply and installation of post-tension (PT) slabs as a central aspect of its construction.
The PT stage was finalized by September 2023, and the overall project is anticipated to reach practical completion in the upcoming months.
