In a significant leap towards bolstering healthcare infrastructure, the Canberra Hospital Expansion Project is making waves as one of the most ambitious undertakings by the ACT Government. Multiplex engaged Interspan for the supply and installation of over 48,000 square meters of post-tensioned slab and over 5,000 Sureloks Temporary Movement Joint lockable dowels, ensuring stringent quality criteria were met.
The 9-storey structure is hailed as the largest healthcare infrastructure commitment ever undertaken by the ACT Government.
This endeavour addresses the pressing need for an enhanced medical facility to accommodate the city’s growing demands and the surrounding area.
The Canberra Hospital Expansion Project’s journey commenced for Interspan in June 2022, with the supply and installation of post-tension (PT) slabs at the heart of its construction.
The PT phase concluded in July 2023, with practical completion of the entire project expected in 2024.
