Value-Engineered Post-Tensioning – Macquarie Midtown Primary School
Interspan delivered a value-engineered post-tensioning solution for the Macquarie Midtown Primary School in Macquarie Park, a key component of the emerging Midtown precinct—one of Sydney’s most significant new community developments.
Designed to accommodate up to 750 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, the new five-storey school will provide a modern, highly connected learning environment within walking distance of Macquarie University.
Collaborative Delivery
Interspan was engaged by Taylor Construction Group, working alongside The APP Group (property and infrastructure consultancy) and Architectus (project architects), with TTW Consulting Engineers as the Consulting Engineer Designer.
Value Engineering and Design Capability
Interspan’s in-house design team delivered a value-engineered post-tensioning solution, focusing on buildability, construction speed, and cost-effective outcomes.
Our integrated approach enabled rapid turnaround across design, drafting, RFIs, and construction queries, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient delivery.
Advanced Design and Documentation
Interspan utilised advanced analysis and design software, including RAPT and RAM Concept, to optimise structural performance.
Industry-leading drafting practices, including embedded reinforcing bar tagging, supported detailed reinforcement tracking and clarity for construction teams.
Quality, Assurance and Delivery
Installation was carried out by a CARES APT04-accredited team, supported by robust QA systems ensuring full traceability from procurement through to installation.
Certified systems under ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 ensured safety, quality, and environmental performance.
A Smarter Approach to Education Infrastructure
By combining in-house design capability with advanced analysis tools and disciplined delivery, Interspan continues to deliver smarter, faster, and more efficient structural solutions for modern infrastructure.
