Post-Tensioning Slab for Aerotropolis Station
As part of the transformative Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport line, Aerotropolis Station will serve as a key transport hub connecting the new airport to St Marys and the wider Sydney rail network. The station box structure was constructed using large precast concrete beams, interconnected with high-strength stressed bars to ensure composite action and long-term durability.
Interspan’s Role in the Project
Interspan was engaged to deliver the post-tensioning works for the main station structure, successfully stressing 180 high-capacity 36mm bars. These precision-installed bars provide the structural integrity required for the precast elements to perform as a unified system under heavy operational loads.
Our team’s expertise in high-force bar stressing and quality assurance ensured the project achieved the required performance and reliability standards, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure for Western Sydney’s future transport network.
