Post-Tensioning System for Mulgoa Road Rail Bridge
The Jane Street and Mulgoa Road Upgrade included the construction of a new rail bridge to expand a key corridor from four to seven lanes. To reduce disruption, the bridge was fabricated offline and installed during a five-day Christmas 2019 possession, immediately following demolition of the existing structure.
Interspan’s Role
Interspan was engaged to complete the final connection between the bridge and its foundations, installing and stressing 48 vertical 75mm diameter post-tensioning bars.
All stressing and grouting operations were performed overnight during road closures, ensuring safety, accuracy, and schedule compliance.
Interspan’s technical capability and responsiveness supported the timely completion of this critical infrastructure upgrade in Western Sydney.
