Post-tensioning for Macquarie Park redevelopment

The redevelopment of the Ivanhoe Estate in Macquarie Park is the NSW Government’s pioneer Communities Plus project. It will deliver a mixed-use community with more than 3,500 dwellings in an equitable, tenure-blind plan, offering substantial social housing adjacent to new market dwellings.

MAC Residences is the first stage of this eagerly awaited urban renewal of the former 8.2-hectare Ivanhoe Estate in Macquarie Park, now known as Midtown MacPark. Designed by the award-winning team at Bates Smart for Fraser’s Property, Mac Residences features 269 modern apartments over 24 storeys and will deliver a mix of housing options, a state-of-the-art childcare centre catering to the needs of local families, and a substantial 3-level basement car park.

The design featured a distinctive curved form, floor-to-ceiling picture windows, and beautiful covered balconies offering stunning vistas across Sydney. The project will have a 5-star green rating, signifying its exceptional commitment to sustainable practices and eco-conscious design.

Our in-house design team utilized advanced tools such as RAM Concept and RAPT to optimize the design to achieve greater efficiency in both material use and buildability. Interspan’s approach resulted in significant client cost savings while accelerating construction timelines.
